Rio Unbound was created around a simple idea: a private experience should have enough structure to work beautifully, and enough flexibility to feel like your day — not ours.

A new name. Years of experience behind it.
Rio Unbound is a new independent brand. The experience behind it is not.
Its founder, Marcelo Elias, has spent more than a decade planning and operating private tours in Rio de Janeiro — coordinating guides and drivers, adapting routes and dealing with the practical decisions that shape how a day actually works.
Rio Unbound grew from that experience, with a more focused idea of what private touring in Rio can be.

A good itinerary is not just a list of places.
Timing, geography, traffic, crowds, opening hours, weather conditions and the rhythm of the day all influence what works well together.
Our role is not simply to recommend a route. We want you to understand why it works, what the trade-offs are, when another option may make more sense, and what can realistically fit into the time you have.
You should understand the plan, not just receive one.
The same principle shapes how we communicate. We try to answer the questions behind the itinerary — not simply describe the itinerary itself.

Our starting experiences are designed with a reason behind their timing, rhythm and route.
You can use them as conceived, adjust their emphasis, replace parts that matter less to you, or begin with your own ideas altogether.
Personalization does not mean trying to fit everything into one day. Sometimes the better decision is knowing what to leave out.
More than knowing the landmarks
Knowing Rio means knowing its landmarks. But it also means understanding how the city behaves around them.
A place can make perfect sense at one point in the day and create unnecessary travel at another. Two attractions that look close on a map may not combine naturally. An extra stop may add less to the experience than the time it takes away from somewhere else.
Those are the kinds of decisions that shape the day.

Your proposal explains what has been planned and what is included. On the day, your licensed guide, professional driver and any other local professionals involved provide the structure — with room to adapt when it makes sense.
